October 8, 2017 - Dark red in the glass, nose of red fruits, spices and a touch of iron. More iron on the palate, full body with good acidity, tannins are in a good place. Opened up more with air, this bottle was more ready than the ones last year. Perhaps finally starting to open up? Great wine...

May 5, 2014 - Wildman Il Giro Italian 2014 Tour (Spiaggia - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Red cherry, lean styled with lots of earth, anise, leather. Long and well textured with good acidity and very elegant tannins. Very good, still needs more cellar time.

December 20, 2013 - PnP, perfect cork. Powerful, pretty nose reaches out of the bottle when I open it. Just a touch of funk, dried cherry. a touch of mineral, maybejust a hint of menthol. Excellent acidity makes me think this has 5 years yet. Nice wine.

March 17, 2013 - Distinctly old world nose in a moderate way. High tones of cherry and berry with sandalwood. Pleasant but gritty tannins. A good wine but lacking the fullness of the previous bottle. just didnt seem like a Riserva. But served at the right temperature with the right person makes this a memorable wine indeed. Salute to the First Ever 10th Annual World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade.

January 31, 2013 - Nose of brunello earthiness and just the right amount of funk. The fruit was in the background where it belongs. I didn't have to taste this wine to love it. Taste was similar to the smell, layered with waves of earth, dark fruit and funk. A perfect Brunello. I will be seeking more of this.
