September 26, 2022 - Part of the Gargantuan wine tasting/ dinner put on for my wife and myself by Manuel/Harley at Coalla last Friday.
Originally this was supposed to be dinner and tasting for 5 people; as our friends dropped out because of illness we had to up-hold the honor all alone with Manuel...
The wine was light, fresh and pleasantly sweet with a touch of "fraises de bois", a perfect foil for the three variations of foie served alongside. Apparently it is made of a grape variety called "Grolleau Gris". Another first for me.
Manuel certainly took much trouble in choosing and presenting me with wines I had never tasted before. What a memorable experience!1 person found this helpful Comments (1) -

September 23, 2022 - Bandreas & Company Stopped in Madrid; 9/23/2022-9/24/2022 (Coalla - Madrid): Ethereal aromas of wild strawberries and stone fruits. Aromas that are balanced, with full harmony. Softness in the mouth with a lively acidity at the beginning of the tour that gradually transforms into a sweet but natural note.
Unusual low sediment level at the end. Always an outsider wine. To the last drop.
Hasta la última gota.1 person found this helpful Comment -

August 26, 2021 - Importer tasting (Oinoscent): Tasted at Oinoscent, bottle brought by importer.
This is made of Grolleau
The wine shows a strange onion/goldish colour.
Very different in style and profile, with a splash of rosewater, a sweet smell overall, raisin and preserved orange.
The palate is quite sweet with its 70gr RS, lemon, quince, cherries, currants, more raisin, light body, low to medium acidity and honey infused medium finish.
Strange but interesting1 person found this helpful Comment
