April 11, 2024 - another slightly flat, slightly VA'ed bottle of wine. drink up or avoid

March 19, 2024 - Strawberry and camphor on the nose. On the palate, strawberry, cranberry, cherry, and notes of herbs and earth on the medium finish, with light tannins and strong acidity. This was a good value at a little over $30.

February 22, 2024 - Very grown-up. Light-bodied, high but balanced mineral acidity, lovely grippy tannins. Quite savoury, marker pen, undergrowth, mushroom, musk, orange peel. Perhaps the alcohol is a touch too hot? But really a delightful bottle, subtle and intellectual, worth taking your time over, with a good few years ahead of it.

February 11, 2024 - Quite evolved already, yet somewhat mute still. Small and fine grained tannins, mid-mature red berries, rich nose. Needs time in carafe to open up it seems.

February 3, 2024 - From small capped bottles poured for a zoom tasting on 1/25/24. Tasted double blind on 2/3/24. Color is red, light-med ruby. Nose is very light. Tart. Hint of VA. Maybe a little red fruit - light and tart. Light wild strawberry but hard to spot. A little stemmy herbal and some spices. Palate is similar w a little more flavor - still light. Wild strawberries and some red cherries with spice but mostly stemmy green/herbal. Finish is lean with decent length. Nose - 4-4.5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 0.5-1/2 = 13-14/20.

So my whole experience, with the 4 reds from small capped bottles, stored in the fridge for over a week, was odd and so I decided that they might have gone dormant and needed air. So I tried them the next night from burg bowls (Zalto and sensory) while the night before I used (Z universal & Gabriel gold)

2/4/24: Now this seems a bit more open. Still very light, cranberry and a bit of tart raspberry, a bit of VA. Something like Concord grape syrup, a little spicy. Still very lithe and restrained. Palate is tart with red - unripe cherry and a bit of rhubarb. Finish is more structural than anything - a frame. Crisp but somewhat hollow. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 13.5/20.
