April 4, 2021 - This pours nicely light in the glass. Light garnet with medium plus bricking. The nose on this is very classically Bordeaux and expresses quite a lot of what I like in left-bank Bordeaux. Aromas of tobacco, mushroom, wet hay, gravel, dried cherry, red currants, roasted green bell pepper, caraway seed, and fire pit waft gently. Not very much change over 6 hours, though perhaps the slightest improvement. I find the palate quite appealing entering on the sweet red fruit and bright acidity. Tannin is very low, almost completely sanded down by time. The finish while not terribly long is very enjoyable and food friendly, cleansing the palate of food with it's bright acidity. This wine showed quite nicely for the age, pedigree, and vintage. Perhaps over delivering somewhat. To me this is quite a distinctly classically styled Bordeaux from a cool vintage, driven more on red fruit and acid.

August 11, 2020 - High Shoulder fill. Translucent crimson. Nose of Cedar, pencil shavings, horse funk & some Brett but in a supportive way, stewed fruits & later muted sweet berries. Dried dark muted cherry, red tea, hint of dry cocoa ? on the palate. The classic watery mouth feel of Bordeaux. It lacks class but it makes up for it by being complex and seductive despite it's flaws. Immensely enjoyable for me to reaffirm the greatness of Matronly Bordeaux. That being said it's way beyond peak but if you love senior Bordeaux
    do it. DO IT !

    August 17, 2017 - '79 Chateau D'Angludet is in a great shape!

Wide brick rim confirming 38 years old wine. Perfumed aromas of pencil shaving, tertiary boiled vegetables. Good acidity, sour cherry, disappeared tannins. Long finish.

Elegant Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel from Margaux that according to Robert Parker is equivalent to a 5th growth especially from '78 and later. Supple and charming.

Such a pleasure to drink matured Margaux!

The wine is slowly declining, so rush! I got lucky mine was in such a good shape!

January 10, 2009 - Trentieme Fete d'Anniversaire et degustation de Bordeaux mil. 1979 (Indianapolis, IN): Leather predominates on the nose. Bright sweet fruity cherry, chocolate notes. Initially very Volnay-like, but finishes with chalky ,rough tannins.

January 10, 2009 - Tasted as part of a 1979 vertical Bordeaux tasting hosted by nephew ATBridge in celebration of his birth in 1979, 30 years ago. This was a surprise. Graphite, smoke on nose; smoke, game, cassis on the palate; nicely integrated tannins; long finish. Overall, the best '79's were fairly enjoyable; most were just OK; some were undrinkable.
