February 23, 2015 - We use fruit from some of the oldest plantings in the valley (over thirty-year-old vines). The result from year to year is superlative consistency and concentration. Our Merlot is a perennial favourite at consumer tastings events and wine shows. This wine has the darkest colour, showing aromas of dark chocolate and plum. The palate is full bodied and immense showing both plushness and complexity. This Merlot is one of the most structured we have produced and while drinkable now, will take a few years to show at its best.
March 24, 2013 - On the palate blackberries, fruitcake, and cassis dominate. With a long finish and rounded tannin this is a good wine. The nose has a sweetness that is also intriguing.
September 3, 2012 - Lots of blackberry and the wine still has some legs left. Definetly able to tell that this wine has some age on it.
July 16, 2012 - Aged wonderfully..
March 3, 2012 - Might be heading over the edge
February 12, 2011 - Impromptu Wine + Ribeye Roast (My Basement Suite): No Formal Tasting Notes, was from a party, Approx 16 Wines, Will put notes I remembered plus reaction and WOTN etc etc
This was my Wine that surprised me of the night, good body weight, good fruit, good structure, acid, all in the right spot, thumbs up on this. This is how a merlot should be [age probably helps it here]
April 7, 2010 - Very Nice blackberry fruit, and good integration of oak. The tannins were there but inviting. This is drinking well now and we really enjoyed the wine with a roast chicken.
December 5, 2008 - very pleasing - drink now
November 1, 2007 - this was a very nice bottle. quite fruity at the start, evolves nicely, decent complexity for a merlot. will be interesting to see how it opens over the next couple year.
