October 15, 2023 - Interesting nose - Brett and farmyard funk that subsides then there’s leather, hazel, cinnamon and violet. Palate - raspberry, dried cherry, hedgerow berries, black olive. Fine tannins, some alcohol heat. Definite effervescence that adds to the off-kilter feel of a lovely gem of a wine hopefully waiting to appear. Will wait a year and see what’s next.

November 19, 2022 - Dark fruits on the nose with a touch of funk. I too noticed a bit of effervescence on the palate and also some cedar, with fine tannins that grew firmer with air. This is drinkable but will keep in the medium term.

March 28, 2022 - A wine that is very nature in style and very bretted on the nose, however has that beautiful Northern Rhone syrah signature. In the mouth, the acidity is striking. Will likely improve in the next year or two.

March 8, 2022 - Day 1-2 - Mild and slightly volatile nose consisting of raspberry, rose hip, dried currant, cedar, roasted/burnt chestnut, incense, iron, and sticky tape. Dense but mild palate - high tannin is wrapped in round surface as if wrapped in a thin layer of wafer paper. Mostly integrated but clearly noticeable alcohol heat (14.5%). Overall gives an impression of naturally made crus Beaujolais from an extremely hot odd vintage, or overly ambitious Mencia - good but a little unexpected/underwhelming for “petit Cote-Rotie” origin and price. 88.

Day 3 - finally opened up, volatile off-odor is gone, gained gorgeous violet and cherrywood smoke notes. Tannin got expressive ripe sweetness. 90 points, but it took too long to get there. Maybe too young now. Hold.
