February 5, 2022 - A medium to full bodied CC, drinking nicely but will improve over the next few years. Nice juice.

December 20, 2021 - Noticeably darker in color than the 16 CCR. It's riper with a darker fruit profile. Dark strawberry and cherry fruit, licorice, and some spice notes. It's full bodied, with the fruit bordering overripe for me with noticeable alcohol. It's rich and hedonistic compared the the '16, with enough structure and acidity to almost carry it. I don't mean to beat this too much, it's overall pretty well balanced for such a broad scaled wine. Very good and then some, but not in my preferred wheelhouse. Comparatively, a bit of a bruiser that lacks the nuance and subtlety of the '16 which I thought was pretty terrific.

On day two the EtOH is a little more pronounced and the fruit is falling a bit flat compared to day one. It's still very good but a shadow of the '16. I will try another bottle in a few months and see what develops. 88

November 30, 2021 - Such a deep, rich nose. It’s dark and intense with lots of umami flavor. More about structure right now. The tannins are drying and the fruit is muted. It presents all the requisite features of an outstanding Riserva that will evolve for decades.
