June 13, 2021 - a 20 year old wine that has kept all its flavors.
January 28, 2018 - Tobacco and some acid on the finish. But good strong finish, still good.
November 5, 2017 - Dark blackish red, paling edges. Fairly large bq w smoke, tobacco, oak, spices, red and black currants. Medium body with prominent acidity, sandy tannins, fruity middle w red currants. Medium aftertaste w good balance. Probably at its peak now.
October 21, 2016 - Elegant, charming, soft, refined, medium bodied and fully ready ready to go. The wine offers a sweet, fresh, smoky, spicy, red fruit character. Popped and poured, was all it needed.
August 15, 2015 - Benefitted from an hour of aeration. Plum, cassis, bacon, smoke, and coffee. Medium bodied on the palate. A bit high acidity on the finish. I much prefer the 2000 Larrivet Haut-Brion, but this still drinks quite well.
May 16, 2014 - Past its peak, but still pleasing. Notes of cassis, tree bark, iron and soil. In the mouth, smooth without any noticeable structure.
August 22, 2013 - Peak. Great with roast chicken.
April 12, 2013 - Donkerrood, iets oranje aan de rand. Klassieke Bordeaux-neus, ook wat zwavel. Goede concentratie, zwart fruit, gesteente. Stevige, drogende tannines, mediumlang tot lang.
April 12, 2013 - Color: ruby red, brown edge
Smell: Mild classic bordeaux
Taste: creamy, roze hip, primary tannines, zweet tones nicely intertwined, zweet wood
finish: first calm and elegant but then kicks in (only in tasting right after opening)
April 11, 2013 - Beautiful and classical bouquet with cassis and some dusty impressions. Also good oak; really nice and showing some luxury. On the palate dark fruits like cassis, good acidity and firm bitterness which is a bit drying in the finish. Also some laurel licorice and minerality. Nice wine. Ready now and the next 2+ years.
