March 19, 2024 - High acid and high alcohol (14%). I don't think I've ever had quite such a punchy Beaujolais. Maybe some time in the cellar will help mellow this beast.
June 25, 2023 - Lighter than the Morgon Côte de Py 2020 of the same producer but real authentic Beaujolais character with its light color, seductiive Gamay bouquet and fresh and fruity taste, ideal on this hot summer day. To be honest: i had more drinking pleasure with this simpler wine than with yesterday’s more ambitious but much sterner St.Joseph and I am giving it a point more for its merit :-)
I no longer see any mention of Lafont or Lameloise on the labels of this bottle? Can somebody enlighten me?
May 9, 2023 - Sappy and savoury with notes of cherry. Tannic, mineral and profound, this was let down by a hard metallic and bitter taint, otherwise all the other ingredients were in place. CHP 86 pts
February 14, 2023 - Bu en succ.
Toujours bon cette cuvée.
Simple et fruité. On boit à grandes lampées
et la bouteille se siffle en un rien de temps.
Digeste et super gouleyant.
Super beau vin de soif.
February 6, 2023 - Seemed very simple. Not very interesting
January 17, 2023 - showing nice fruit....will age elegantly for a little while. Drinking well.
September 9, 2022 - Pomegranate, cherries, rose petals, dirt/earth, sea salt. There is a cool herbal/dried spice note toward the end of the palate. Definitely mineral driven, as Chenas is supposed to be. Medium bodied with medium acid and low tannin.
August 12, 2022 - Deep colour. The nose was slow to open but become quite floral as it did so. Some rose and raspberry flavours with good and well-balanced acidity. No oak. Very nice wine. Presented by a member at Grand Union Wine Society and sourced from The Wine Society in UK.
August 12, 2022 - Clean gamay. Spicy black pepper with secondary fruit notes.
July 16, 2022 - Very good Chenas
