  August 25, 2022 - A big older world style napa cab
  loads of french oak
  Blue fruit. vanilla
  ripe fruit tanin overshadowed by the oak a bit, needs another 5-10 yrs

  January 1, 2022 - Not sure if it’s a hundred-pointer, but it was damned close. I didn’t give it enough time, and shared it (gladly) on the first day of the new year, so I didn’t get to see it stretch its muscles. But wow. Lots of muscles. At any rate, not giving it a number, but choosing to remember the dark fruit, exceptional, food-friendly acid and robust tannins.

  February 11, 2021 - Dunn Estate Tasting: Galloni gave this 180-case production a perfect score, and I have to agree: it is a faultless expression of place. Rich (14.4% ABV) with explosive fruit, it nevertheless shows the restraint and subtlety lacking in so many high-end Napa wines today. Charred wood, oregano, and pepper linger on the seemingly endless finish. What strikes me most, though, is that this 100-pointer has only the slightest edge over the consistently outstanding Howell Mountains that Dunn releases vintage after vintage. Mike, Randy, and team deserve every ounce of love this bottling will get, but it really ought to just reinforce how special their wines have been all along.
