Community Tasting Notes 5

January 20, 2012 - A fraction tough to read. A first I thought a bit shy (young?) but upon reflection certainly well in the window and perhaps quite mature. Classic daggy old world fruits, dull honey, pepper and soft citrus. I'd be drinking this now.

June 9, 2010 - Fascinating wine. Nose of petrol, salt water, lentil, clean linen and a buttery, floral aroma. Full-bodied, largely savory on the palate, but with notes of pineapple. Good acidity. Was excellent with seafood rolls, becoming richer and fruitier, taking on some white Burgundy character. Finish lingers with salt and citrus. Incredible value.

October 22, 2009 - Upon opening this is textbook Muscadet- oyster shell, sea salt, fresh cucumber, lemon zest; sharp, wiry texture; very pure. With an hour of air, however, this shows the pedigree of Bossard. The texture blossoms into something richer, more viscous, yet remains full of cut and electricity. The flavors shift from more primary aromas and flavors to exotic expressions, ranging from fennel and toasted almond to white pepper, brioche, fresh laundry. The long finish shows hints of pine and fresh melon, with acid that leaves one salivating for another sip. I'd love to see where this goes in another decade. What a beautiful, singular expression of Muscadet!

October 11, 2008 - Very nice classic Muscadet. Mineral nose with some citrus. Crisp palate with good acidity and a medium finish. Good QPR.

October 2, 2008 - Loire Trip (with stops in Beaujolais and the Cote Chalonnaise); 10/2/2008-10/5/2008: Expressive, with floral and mineral notes. Obviously broader and lusher after the Gros Plant, but still nicely balanced in an objective sense.
