June 13, 2021 - I was perusing a local wine shop debating whether or not to spring for a nice Mouton behind the glass up on the higher rack, when out of the corner of my eye, I spied a case of this sitting there open for all to see. Being a fan of creamy, oaky Cali chard, better yet being in the same home with Carol, the Queen of creamy, oaky chards.....made me want to buy one for her.....the $10.99 price tag didn't scare me off, after all, I figured I just saved $689 on the Mouton. The write up on the label talking about all the ingredients in a home made pound cake, the butter, the cream, etc....really had my mouth watering. Chilled this in Carol's cooler for a day then decided to pop the cork sitting down to a nice chicken dinner......OMG...the paint fumes and insecticide eminating from the glass made for a not good experience......I couldn't tell if this was a flawed bottle, simply because, it was just so bad......the second day open to air, there was the faint smell of peaches which managed to only slightly overide the insecticide/chemicals.....down the drain it goes. I've never been afraid of a wine before, but I was just too afraid to taste this one. I gave it a 50, because it had a nice deep yellow color. Lol......
