June 14, 2021 - Couldn't resist and cracked this open. Golden color. Fresh and dynamic on the nose, with lemon, lemon curd, white orchard fruits and vanilla. Same notes carry through the palate with apricot and almond. CSIMM gets this right, however, regarding the woody flavor on the palate and finish indicating this isn't quite ready. Really well crafted wine with the all the elements for something special; needs more time to integrate.

May 3, 2021 - Napa - All my COVID finds; 4/29/2021-5/5/2021 (Napa): The nose reminded me of a lemon bar and the palate had a fresh citrus profile. Was richer than the UV

April 30, 2021 - 3 days in Napa: Arkenstone, Memento Mori, Maxem, The French Laundry, Christopher Tynan, Kinsman, Harlan, Vice Versa, Accendo, Fairchild, Macdonald, and a truckload of others (Napa): Lemon curd, pie crust, vanilla bean, and a touch of dried apricot notes make for an affable delivery of flavor that kick-out mouthwatering essences drawing you in for another sip. Though the wood influences on both Maxem wines were crafted the same, the perception of vanilla oak is currently more prominent with the Lucky Well when directly compared to the slightly more enticingly nervy UV. Drink the Lucky Well now and over the next 3-4+ years.

April 21, 2021 - Very light golden color. The nose consists of fresh cut lawn, Myers lemons, hibiscus, limes and apricot. Wonderful layers of lemon curd, key lime pie, honeydew melon, pineapple and pears. Terrific layers and a mineral enhanced finish that lingers for a long time. A very enjoyable wine. I can't wait to try the UV vineyard sourced wines.
