August 30, 2023 - This time the wine showed even better with pronounced citrusy (lime) and spicy (pepper) notes. Excellent freshness, purity and typicity with long finish and excellent concentration. Wow!
April 20, 2023 - This is so good: pure, fresh, energetic and light on its feet. Melon, watermelon, nectarines and white pepper. Weightless, fresh and long finish. Classy.
August 14, 2022 - Really pleasant.. straight forward. Very refreshing wine. Tried it a while ago so it's hard to remember, but it was a crowd favorite. I do remember it being "juicier" for a gruner.
Definite buy again.
May 1, 2022 - Pours a pale straw. Mineral with cold pebbles, pea shoots, gooseberry, layers of fresh citrus, and a feint hint of white pepper. Impressive concentration, spring water fresh, clean and pure. Superb.
May 1, 2022 - PnP. Beautiful delicate nose of pea shoots, cold pebbles. It smells like a dewy summer early morning. Beautiful texture on the palette, more body than expected. Fresh lemon alongside the delicate garden notes. A sweetness in the lemon on the attack, then the pith on the mid palette and finish. Some white grapefruit too. So refreshing, almost thirst quenching. Unbelievable balance. As it warmed up, some asparagus on the mid palette. The typical white pepper showed up by the end of the second glass.
March 27, 2022 - Big fan of these wines. Fleshy white fruits with distinctive white pepper note. Creamy mouthfeel with a bright acidity. Easy to drink with or without food.
March 24, 2022 - Almost clear. 12.5% ABV. Aromatic. Grassy and vegetal aromas. Acidic. Mineral. Some pleasant citrus, arugula at the finish. Interesting and complex. As with other Gruners I have had, this is an excellent dinner wine.
January 2, 2022 - This was worlds better than the only other grüner veltliner I’ve ever had. Bright acidity, peppery with some crunchy green apple. I still don’t think grüner is my grape but, apart from linearity, there’s little to complain about here.
December 20, 2021 - Odd. I found it overly acidic and I'd almost say watery. This is the fourth of these wines that I've had, and I don't remember disliking the previous three.
September 2, 2021 - Grüner Veltliner (Schloss Gobelsburg, Austria): Flight 3, Wine 1: Light, pale yellow colour. Citrus, stone fruit, green apple, light vegetal notes, light earth, and white pepper, with fresh acidity, and good length of the earthy & white pepper-driven finish. Really great acidity! Medium- to light-bodied, lightly salty, and very fresh. It takes some effort to make friends with the wine, but once you do it becomes a very refreshing relationship!
