March 22, 2024 - This ‘19 ERA tasted so friggin good. Lots of savory/saline blue and black fruit notes. Hints of rock dust, espresso, herbs, tobacco, leather and graphite. Great muscular structure, solid acidity and big tannins on long finish.

May 31, 2022 - Tasted at the winery. This is a blend of the best barrels from AO in a given year.

Very nice wine. Couldn't be anything other than Napa Cab. Beautiful concentrated fruit, subtle acid and tannin, medium-full body without being heavy.

This was clearly a high quality wine (and I have rated it as such), but for my palate it lacked the character and individuality that warrants $335/btl.

Can drink now with a short decant. I wouldn't look to age this for a long time, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

April 23, 2022 - Very good right now but better days lay ahead for this vintage. The color is a dense dark purple with a pleasant nose. This wine is a pleasing blend of grapes sourced from a number of locations in the valley that have come together really well. Dark blackberries, blueberries, dark currants, full bodied, nice extraction and depth. This wine is pricy but good. 2019 Era is an excellent wine.

November 17, 2021 - Napa Fall 2021; 11/17/2021-11/21/2021 (Napa): Big surprise, and a big wine. No prejudice or bias coming in, as if tasting blind. Fruit sourced from a cornucopia of vineyards, brought together and galvanized into a stalwart, inky wine. Rich raspberry and blackberry coulis. Deserves time in cellar or a long decant if drinking now

May 31, 2021 - Tasted at the Rutherford Estate; it was smooth and and balanced with hints of cherry. The subtleties of this wine come together to make a complex wine that leaves the palate wanting more.
