July 30, 2021 - This was a really good bottle of mature shiraz. Soft and full of ripe blackberries and sweet cassis. Quite long and still freshness along more mature mushroomy notes. Excellent!
March 4, 2017 - A nice example of an cool climate Australian Shiraz. Good berries and balance. Drink now
January 5, 2017 - Very nice, soft and evolved shiraz which got better with 2-3 hours in the glass. Sweet blackberries and some eucalyptus. Not super long but a very nice drink, good example aussie shiraz with some age - soft, integrated and full of flavours.
October 30, 2015 - Bit of reduction that blows off after 30 minutes. Opens into blackberry and coconut oak. Nicely developed nose. The palate has strong depth of flavour, maybe a touch too much oak, but continues the blackberry, black currant and damson flavours, with black pepper opening up in time. Drying finish.
February 17, 2010 - Nice soft nose of black rapsberries, blackberries, shortbread and oak. Simple smelling but tasty. Nice body here, not overly big and has nice acidity and building tannin. Rich black berries on the palate, tasty fruit but nothing that interesting to note. Nicely built, a tasty wine overall but kind of basic.
February 18, 2009 - Rhone Blends v Aussie Shiraz (Wine What Else): Sweeter mint nose. Eucalyptus-backed sweet cassis fruits. An enjoyable wine.
January 8, 2009 - Straight from the bottle. Still a bit young but reasonable balance and potential. Fruit (plum?) and smoke on the nose. Similar on the palate but still tannic. It does linger and the tannins fall off for a smoother finish. Probably better decanted and will hold half a bottle for a day 2 follow up.
December 27, 2008 - Christmas drinking; 12/24/2008-12/28/2008 (Hong Kong): Quite lean and balanced. Not outstanding but a nice balance for a Aussie Shiraz.
June 28, 2008 - APFW new world tasting. Quite nice - not as thick and sticky as some of the other South Australian Shirazes on display. very primary plummy flavours, but with good cleaness and focuse. Pretty intense flavours. Certainly sweet on the nose and the palate, but with nice fresh acid giving this a lift.
January 16, 2008 - Made from 97% Shiraz and 3% Grenache this wine spends 18 months in mainly French oak. Deep, dark red in colour the nose showed aromas of raspberry, cedar wood and dark chocolate. The palate was rich and elegant after some time in the glass. It shows mainly savoury characteristics, with a hint of spice. Subtle tannins and good acid.
Tasted at The Point Restaurant, Albert Park Lake, Melbourne.
