December 15, 2023 - Drank after a 2013 petite syrah and this one was a little too over the top. Good, not great. Hold for a couple more years to let the fruit mellow out a little
October 28, 2023 - I don't think I've ever had a more bombastic wine than this. Plum and blackberry jam, pepper. Thick, dusty, silky. Too over the top to drink on its own on Day 1. Softened on Day 2.
September 22, 2023 - Kurt Venge has a knack for making highly drinkable wines. His zinfandels as just so good. It's a shame there is only one Venge zinfandel offering. I know Venge has multiple new single vineyard cabernets coming out post-pandemic, but wish there were more zins. Drinking very well now. Don't wait!!!
June 15, 2023 - Just yummy!
April 8, 2023 - Wow. Never had this b4 today and was blown away. Not sure if my palate was askew but I really really enjoyed this wine. Bold yet refined. Smooth but potent. Just SO well balanced.
I want to def try again to see if it can repeat.
January 26, 2023 - This Zin is BIG and bold. Did I say big. As expected from Venge, concentrated dark berry fruit and oak come on strong. Stylistically very different from the Carlisle Zin we opened previously.

April 8, 2022 - Definitely coming around now. Big bruiser as expected. Dark fruits some cedar, cocoa. Still on the upswing.
December 31, 2021 - Wow, deep BRG, almost black. Very spicy. Will stand up to anything.
