November 24, 2021 - I used to love this wine. My last two bottles finished with more sweetness than crispness.

November 16, 2021 - Interesting. Certainly more melon and other light fruits and rounder mouth feel, than the grapefruit taste and high acidity of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.

    November 15, 2021 - Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes
Winery: Merry Edwards. Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc
Area/Appellation: California, Sonoma, Russian River Valley
Vintage: 2019. Price: $45 Jacob East.
Color: pale straw a, slight golden wheat hue. Legs: fast
Nose: Faint, picking up lime, Meyer lemon, grass, passion fruit, honeydew, honeysuckle.
Palate: lemon and lime, peach, some kiwi fruit, pears, White honeysuckle flowers, passion fruit,
Finish: Very smooth, no lemon/ lime spritzing, all balance.
Comments: This wine is incredibly integrated already and showcased. It has been awhile since my last Merry Edwards (probably the 2007 & 2008 which were outstanding) and this one really strikes a home run for terroir and varietal expression. I don’t know what it is that makes it so special, but I’m picking up a couple more bottles of it. Drink now through 2024. Potential top 100 from the big 3.
Pairing Suggestions: I had a pork tenderloin with lemon and garlic.
Score in terms of Vintage: 93
    Score for the Wine: 92+
Value for the Money: Excellent Silver Cellar Trophy 🥈🪙

October 23, 2021 - Stellar as always, with notes of pineapple, Meyer lemon, peach pie, and candied orange peel leading the way. Exceptionally balanced, with integrated oak slowly building, offset by ample acidity that keeps it fresh and lively.

October 22, 2021 - This wine is flat out delicious. While richer than many Sauvignon Blanc wines (we tried it in comparison the the Delille Chaleur Blanc, which has a non trivial amount of Semillon with Sauvignon Blanc), it retains the brightness and vegetal notes that help make Sauvignon Blanc distinctive, yet somehow has a viscosity and richness that surprise. One of our friends refers to this wine by its Degas-like label of nude women dancing, and it makes us that happy too.

October 8, 2021 - Much heavier on the bell pepper than the previous bottle. Takes a little of the sheen off of it for me.
