December 17, 2011 - Perhaps due to handling and/or age, this wine just didn't shine. Unpleasant nose, first taste didn't encourage a second taste - but after that, it was drinkable if unremarkable. Decanted and allowed to open, but still unimpressive at first and throughout. Note that we brought this bottle back from Sao Paulo in our checked luggage, and then forgot to cellar it properly for the last year+, so the fault may be as much ours as the winemakers - but we won't be looking for another bottle like this any time soon.

August 7, 2010 - Interesting Grenache for a wasted day. Violets and oak, so much oak on the nose. Meaty and a bit alcoholic on the palate. At this point, I am thinking this bottle was needing more time laying down...that or just a fair wine.

July 12, 2009 - Ruby red color. Cherry, pepper, nutmeg, allspice and clove scent. Medium body, currant and spice taste with ample tannins and a fairly long finish. Nice summer wine.

January 15, 2009 - Popped and poured. Aromas filled the room immediately. Big red fruits, tar and a little smoke. Finally a little bit of herbs at the end. The flavor profile is all raspberries, black and red, and fresh cherry juice. More minerals and earth than the nose would indicate. Super silky and sleek. Medium bodied. Great acidity with just a touch of tannin on the finish. Leather and tobacco started to appear after being in the glass a while. Very enjoyable!

December 29, 2008 - tart cherry mostly towards the finish, some fruit, quick finish. drinkable on its own. Based on the nose I fully expected all fruit and no spice. Ended up with pretty much the opposite.
