April 14, 2024 - Lovely Brunello. Had side-by-side with the Pertimali 2016 and was in a similar quality bracket. This one is slightly sweeter on the nose and palate. Ripe red cherry, raspberry. Pine. Vanilla. Mint. A bit reductive to start the night, but it opened up around 2 hours in.
February 4, 2024 - Slightly ripe 14% abv. Nice drinker but not much elegance
November 14, 2023 - Solid and elegant with dark rum, black cherry
October 28, 2023 - Beautiful wine. Decanted 4 hours. Stunning. Even better on Day 2. Floral notes, stone, bright cherry, leather all work in harmony from start to finish. Phenomenal wine.
October 7, 2023 - Popped and poured. Medium ruby color. Nose of sour cherry, cedar. Not overly aromatic but might need a bit more time to open up. Lots of sour cherry flavor on the palate, touch of florals and more cedar. High acidity. Medium+ tannins. Drank a little lighter than expected (not a bad thing) but think a bit more time sideways would benefit this wine or I would likely decant if drinking now.
August 14, 2023 - not as good as other bottles I've had of this vintage. this one was a little more traditional brunello, even tasting more like barolo. not quite as elegant and feminine and refined as others i've had.
July 18, 2023 - One hour double decant. Deep ruby color, with a rusty rim. Red apple core, sweet tobacco, cherry, leather, and subtle tomato soup. Smooth, tongue drying palate, with fine, tongue coating acidity. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish.
Although not intuitive, all the notes in this Sangiovese flowed together quite beautifully. I was very pleasantly surprised, because Italian reds have not been my favorite recently. This is a touch savory, but very enjoyable, especially with food.
June 19, 2023 - A really nice Brunello. Smooth and well balanced.
May 26, 2023 - Good Brunello not great. less fruit more earth driven. not as muscular and heavy tannins from other producers I've had in this vintage.
March 31, 2023 - this wine is more linear and focused with nice length and legs...less fruit forward in a good way.
