April 28, 2022 - Tasted blind as part of a Chardonnay tasting. We blinded this as Chablis. The source is purported to be Gran Moraine.

Beautiful austere old-world nose, doesn't spring out of the glass, you need to find it. Flinty, light flowers, tense fruit. Palate had plenty of acidic tension with cool-climate fruit character, some "spicy" character that I couldn't put my finger on. Finish showed river rock and minerality.

Lovely old-world style Chardonnay. Our group is very novice with Chardonnay, but we all thought this had minimal oak, cool-climate character, lifted acidity, and rocky tension. Turned out to be Oregon, which was exactly the point of including this in the tasting.

Drink now or hold for ~5 years.

December 2, 2021 - Light yellow / straw, a touch cloudy. Touch of white peach, clotted cream, crushed white rocks, white flowers. Medium bodied, seems like a touch of malo but definitely not too heavy. Oak is limited and provides a bit of roundededness but otherwise isn’t noticeable. Reminds of a white burgundy - maybe a Mersault or a Chablis in a warm vintage. There is enough acidity for balance here, but not a ton of tension, suggesting that this will be a short to medium term aging wine.

Outstanding stuff for the price. At MSRP I’d be happy with this…

October 8, 2021 - Three Blind dN OR Chards: A milder reduction. Cut from the same cloth as N.77, but feels shier, more reserved. Perhaps a still bottle shocked. With time it showed a floral and more delicate side. Wine #1 seems to be showing better, but I think with time this can become a nice wine. Very likely still recovering from a bit of bottle shock. Will check in on it in a few months.

August 5, 2021 - Initial hazelnut bouquet, white flowers and pepper perfume. Although light initially on the palate, smooth and creamy on the mid palate with pear and white fruits, an overriding sense of lemony citrus on the finish; vibrant with juicy acids layered over softening tannins, the fruits seem a bit primary, disclosing themselves in block stages tonight. Finely textured, this Chardonnay will benefit from another 6 months - 1 year in the cellar, a potentially excellent age worthy Chardonnay. 89-91
