April 30, 2023 - Full soft fruit, fading more than ageing, very pleasant, nice blue bitter finish to the fruit

October 25, 2022 - Dang, more of this please. See last year’s note. Not much different. Cloves, tobacco, mushrooms. No tannins. Acidity starting to lose balance with the (still present!) fruit, but excusable given nearly 30-year age. Somebody did something right in 1995. Update: weeks later, still nursing it via Coravin and lamenting the end of the bottle…this thing was heavenly.

October 2, 2021 - Did not expect this to be so spry at 26. Absolutely no complaints; maybe I should hold my other Priorats for longer. Both tannins and fruit left, and what it has lost in terms of fruit it makes up for with spices. A gritty and soil-driven expression of Priorat not far off from the 2018 (20+ years younger!) I tried from Clos Martinet last year. Wish I had more of these. Memorable.

August 4, 2019 - At 24 years old this masculine and refined priorat is fully ready. Tasted the wine After 3 hours and not decanted
Aspect : Clear, deep garnet color (orange>Brown), a bit of sediment
Nose : Green Pepper and toasted coffee + oak, smoke & ripe red fruit Dark forest fruits
Taste : Wine is dry, intense and high tannins perfectly integrated. Ripe dark berries and prunes, earthy notes (forest floor & mushrooms), oak, spices.
Finish : Very Very Long and dry
Recommendation : 92+ Drink now but let him breath before/ can be decanted.

September 20, 2016 - Monthly Tuesday group The Dead Sparrow #011: Priorat (By PS): Dark forest fruits, sweet spices and some nutmeg in the bouquet. On the palate chocolate, smoke, vanilla, autumn forest floor, mushrooms, still some dark berries, good acidity and tannin with still some bite. Nice wine. Fully ready now.
