November 16, 2023 - it has a special taste not optimal for chardonay.

December 23, 2013 - Weekly tasting group #100; (very) mature wines (@ DJ): Special and mature bouquet; marmite and oxidized impressions. On the palate also very mature. Lime peel, banana, nuts, raisins and caramel. No score.

May 9, 2010 - Deep honey color with copper and amber, like a 20 yr old Sauternes. Bouquet of butterscotch and baked apple tart. At first sip, I thought this wine might be undrinkable, with stale, oxidized sherry notes. But after 30 minutes, the wine became more enjoyable. This wine tastes nothing at all like the typical young butter-oak-lemon-apple-pear California chardonnay. I would describe this wine as an "aged, dry Sauternes" with notes of vanilla, caramel, and sherry. I don't even know how to score this wine. Some might give it a much higher score.

January 4, 2010 - A bit overdue. Good color for the age, nice fruit in the nose but lacking on the palate. Thankfully our last bottle.
