Community Tasting Notes 2

  • jkscully Likes this wine:

April 15, 2022 - Cassis and cherry, but not as fruity as I expected. Very smoky with some charred eggplant and pepper flavors. Nice and good match with Mexican (the smoky flavors matched the smoky meat).

April 30, 2021 - This wine is medium purple in hue with lighter hue towards the rim. The aromas include leather, smoke, chalk, flint, and blackberry. The palate is more fruity than the nose would suggest and is delicious. It is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol (feels lower than the stated 14.5%), low-medium tannin, great mouthfeel, and has a nice long finish. Paired wonderfully with gnocchi in truffle cream sauce. Excellent!
