    July 5, 2022 - Glassware: Zalto Universal
    Prep: Pop n’ pour

Focused bouquet of quince, honeydew, and minerals. On the palate the wine is more open-knit than I was expecting for a GG this young, with lemon candy, lemongrass, crushed slate, and saline undertones. Zesty, crisp acidity and dry extract provide a tannic feel on the midpalate. Very enjoyable and refreshing, especially in 100 degree heat.

June 4, 2022 - Very pale yellow. Light body. High acidity.

The texture and the mineral character are very similar to those of Etna Bianco. Maybe, Felsenberg vineyard has some volcanic soil? It will be interesting to drink them side by side after proper aging.

Notes of flint, smoke, bergamot, tarragon, and slight pine wax. Fruit is citrus medley of lime, lemon, and tangerine. Touch tropical and bitter note as if biting into grapefruit pith. Mineral texture and salinity are powerfully captivating. It ends with some perfumed note of lily of the valley.

I just cannot resist taking another sip to explore the mineral characters of this wine.

A unique wine from a unique place.

April 28, 2022 - Perhaps one of the most mineral-infused young Rieslings I've had in some time. So much energy, verve and lift. Almost painful on the palate with it's linearity and piercing acidity. Peach, floral and dried tropical fruits are in the background, with crushed stones in the foreground. This will need a lot of time in the cellar.

March 27, 2022 - Pale, lemon-green appearance. Plenty of fruit on the nose – quite ripe with peach, melon ,a little elderflower. Masses of crushed wet rock . Wonderfully precise on the palate with a crystalised mouth feel. Flavours of grapefruit, lime tart, and herbs in the mid-palate leading to a long finish with mouthfuls of crushed rock. Very tight and supremely austere. This is most definitely not a crowd-pleaser but a stunning wine that speaks of place. Unlike say the Hollenpfad im Muhlenberg, 4-5 years won’t be enough to see this bloom. It will take 10 years to see this soften, integrate, & develop all leading to a wonderful wine.

December 29, 2021 - mineral, persistent and very long - too young, need to keep this for 10 years
