June 13, 2007 - SOBER tasting (Dan's place): Beautiful, nutty nose, with a bit of brioche. Apples and a touch of lemon on the palate. Acidic, well balanced, and beautiful.

May 14, 2006 - A lovely BdB. Amazingly young and pure chardonnay flavor. Citrusy like a Chablis. Not tight but fairly narrow in focus. I expected a bit more brioche or leesy yeast. The only sign of its age is that the acidity is nicely integrated rather than green and spikey. Would be a nice complement to oysters or asparagus.

December 6, 2005 - Founded by Nicolas Francois Billecart & Elisabeth Salmon in 1818, still family owned and run today. This cuvée is a blend of Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Côtes des Blancs: Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. On the nose nice toasty, yeasty and wheat aromas present with just a whiff of citrus. On the plate, a wonderful mature Chardonnay vibrance. Nice yeast and toast with slight hints of sweet pink grapefruit. A nice long persistent palate with clean acidity and a hint of pleasant bitterness that lingers. Bubbles were a bit softer than I remebered on the last '90 I consumed a few months back. This is definately one of my favorite Champange producers and this bottle was no exception. Wonderful! Very drinkable now, but ok to lay for another 3-5 years.
