May 24, 2020 - Likely a good year or so past its peak, but still in a pretty good place right now. This was my only one (a 1.5L) but if I had more, I'd be drinking them much sooner than later.
February 16, 2018 - Maybe 93 is a bit high but damn this is a nice wine that show new aromas every time I go back to the glass. First opened was stewed tomato and red apple. But 39 minutes of decanting is classic Cab. Cassis, pencil lead and some acetone. Powdered sugar, cherry.
January 1, 2018 - Dark rich blackberries and still firm tannins. Needs lots of air. Delicious.
May 20, 2017 - Spectacular! Well balanced, great fruit, classic Napa Cab.
December 28, 2016 - This mature bottling is still delivering pleasure though it is clearly at or a bit past peak. If you have these I would be drinking them.
December 11, 2015 - PnP with decant and air as we drank. Simple at first, hints of bricking on the edges, very earthy on the nose and palate on open. With air, started to show through, cherries, cola, iron, pencil shavings. Metallic iron blood nose near end of decanter. Tannins fully integrated.
October 2, 2015 - Better than all other bottles, like this was a different wine. Black cherries, cola, cherry cola, blackberry, blueberry, with perfectly integrated tannins! Very surprised and so were fellow drinkers. Kicked the ass of an '07 Cavus which surprised us all!
September 10, 2015 - Consumed over 3 days. Good, not great. Notes consistent with prior bottle, but not as good. Not sure if this is in a weird spot. Maybe time in cellar will do this good.
July 11, 2015 - Nose: blackberry, caramel
Taste: low tannins, long finish of black berry, blue berry, maple syrup, anise. Very good. I'm glad I waited for this one.
May 7, 2015 - I just had a bottle of this wine last weekend at the Boulevard Restaurant in San Francisco. We decanted for about 45 minutes and it is drinking beautifully.
