January 29, 2012 - Youthful in apppearance with petrol, lime, honey and quince. Textbook Riesling nose. Racy in palate, well balanced with petrol, peach and citrus. Medium + length.

June 26, 2008 - Medium yellow gold in the glass. On the nose: Lemon sherbert, pink grapefuit white nectarine and melted lemon travel sweets. Medium-bodied with a lovely seam of acidity, good weight and nicely balanced residual sweetness on the palate. Really pure citrus fruits and mineral tones linger on the impressive length. Great stuff. Drinking now but should develop well over the next 3 - 5 years.

12/10/2008 (link)(RIESLING Berg HUBER) Huber Dear Friends, In one of the more bizarre wine-trade occurrences we've been a part of, our 2006 allocation of Marcus Huber was "lost" by the winery, replaced by the 2007's (which is what everyone received) and then "found" a few weeks ago. The result? Our entire original allocation of the 2006 arrived today via air freight and it's as though Yogi Berra has made an appearance in the warehouse - it's deja vu all over again. Marcus Huber became a star with the 2006 vintage and the light is now shining on the Traisental, the Wachau's border neighbor to the east. Huber's two best wines, the Riesling Berg and Gruner Berg are still priced like the Wachau was ten years ago and the quality is just as high, if not higher than many $50 examples (take a look at present prices for the better Wachau Smaragd wines). While not inexpensive by any means, In terms of the Austrian hierarchy, Huber remains a steal and the quality is not only in the bottle but both wines should age for years. An impressive young-gun going places in a hurry. Both are directly from the source with perfect provenance - both are very hard to find in Europe or the US: 2006 Marcus Huber Riesling DAC "Berg" (Traisental) 2006 Marcus Huber Gruner Veltliner DAC "Berg" (Traisental) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Austr5677 Austr5678
