Community Tasting Notes 4

December 17, 2010 - I thought I was going nuts with this odd wine until I read a earlier tasting note. I agree with Jasonh, hints of cat urine, some petrol. This all became more concentrated as the wine aerated a little. Hopefully at an odd point. Doesn't seem to have the structure to age well.

January 28, 2010 - Great wine for the price ($20). Wonderful smells of bright cherry and strawberry; secondary scents of spice such as nutmeg. Taste was bright and somewhat lively, although fruit is muted. Mouth-feel is satin-like with a short finish. Overall, this wine has come together quite nicely; well balanced. Cellar time has rewarded this wine. I suspect this can lay down for a few more years, but drinking well now...wish I had more.

August 20, 2007 - Decent nose of fresh ripe fruit (strawberry, cherry), mocha and woodspice. Softened up the next day under Vaccuvin. Maybe needs time.

August 18, 2007 - Okay…here it is … the winner for the weirdest wine. Nose of cat pee, pears, white fruit and white flowers. If you were blind folded I doubt you would ever even think of guessing pinot. The palate somewhat followed. I actually did not find this unpleasant … but it is very interesting.
