August 20, 2022 - Drank over two days. Cold decanted two hours on day one. Shoots out of the glass like a fruit sour aged in oak. Fresh squeezed lemon juice, green apple, honey ginger and pinches of baking spices.
By the second day, the white stone fruits start forming and a lot of the attractive fruitiness starts developing. The oak mellows out and the toasty caramel sweetness starts to form, but quickly vanishes like a wisp of smoke - probably the most disappointing part about this given I really liked some of the previous vintages.
I'm going to give the other bottles sometime to sit - feels a bit off balance right now but may reach the right point in the near future. -
