December 1, 2023 - Nose is bright red fruit that finishes a little floral. Palate is tart red fruit.

    April 4, 2023 - ~$21

Solid wine, but i was hoping for more. Decanted, but not for too long. Wine is clearly ready to drink now. Consumed partially with food (potage, roast chicken), partially on its own.

My hope was "think Rhone, with more minerality and earth". The reality - it didn't quite get there. A bit heavy and scorched, IMO, and i never got the garrigue and other aromatics that distinguish the better Rhones.

I will note that drunk cooler (say, below 65 deg F) it is more to my liking -- often true! most reds are consumed too warm and most white too cold!) Cooler consumption eliminates some off notes, and brings forward the acid and minerals, as they are.

Certainly very good - it just didn't go the extra mile for me. I can think of many hgih end Cotes Du Rhone Villages that i prefer, and some low end Gigondas/chateauneuf/ Rasteus as well.

February 10, 2023 - This has the classic aromas and flavors of Priorat. But in a very basic way. It could use a little more structure maybe? It works as an entry level Priorat, and I guess $24 is what an entry level Priorat costs these days, so there you go.
