January 7, 2024 - Very smooth and easy drinking. Probably a tad past it's prime though. Let it stand up for a bit before pouring so sediment settles to the bottom.

October 7, 2022 - Drinking beautifully, very nice dark fruit and a great depth of flavor. A solid Rioja.

August 13, 2022 - Dark toned nose which oozes power, the palate is dense and extracted, syrupy chocolate but not jammy or overtly sweet, oak spice, purple fruit, tobacco, anise and hints of citrus. Matching supple tannins and enough acidity to lend freshness. This is modern, a bit polished Rioja, which is clearly made to impress. Approachable now but will last and continue to resolve as oak integrates better. Culmen 2004 tasted a couple of years ago was more ready go already at that point, of these two I prefer Culmen since oak is still quite prominent in EdiciĆ³n Limitada.

June 25, 2022 - Vivacious and so sharp for the best Spanish vintage in the past 25 years. Wish I had another six of these beauties! Still wonderfully modern in style but so much more nuanced from its youth, with bright cherries and some black olives with a nice finish of sweet tobacco. But with this beauty singing so strongly I'm guessing it has another 10 years easily.

February 12, 2021 - Appearance: Clear, deep garnet. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, fully developed aromas of cherry, raspberry, black olive, tobacco, chocolate, leather, and dark earth. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium alcohol, medium tannin, pronounced intensity, medium+ body, flavors of under-ripe red fruit (cherry & raspberry) with notes of tobacco and leather with a long finish. Conclusion: Outstanding wine drinking superbly at this moment. This wine was purchased in 2008 and stored at cellar temperature until opening. Drink now or over the next 1-2 years.

November 10, 2018 - 3 hour pregame decant. Very fruit forward for a 14 yo bottle. Blueberry with some baking spices along with notes of glove leather and long finish with muted tannins. I really enjoyed this wine this was my last bottle.

October 26, 2018 - Cellared from release this wine is going strong. Some bricking. Dark purple color. It is a richer, riper modern style Rioja, which is not my favorite but would be for folks who like big Napa wine alternatives. It has earthy old world elements. 14.5% abv.
