13.0% abv - $8
Served (Pop & Pour) with Beef Tri-tip, Heirloom Potatoes and Pear Salad.
Dark purplish red on the pour; opaque in the glass. Red Plum on the nose. Plum and blackberry with earthtones on the palate along with hints of tobacco and chocolate. Medium body, yet hearty and full-flavored. Subdued tannins and moderate acidity. Nice finish.
Originally not impressed, with a slight unidentifiable 'whang' upon opening. Wine was much better on the second day. Highly recommend aerating and/or decanting before serving. Spouse Endorsed. I'll get more. -

June 28, 2023 - Bottle a praiseworthy 1166g. Moderately intense aromas of red and black fruit, smoke and an herbal top note. Dry, with moderate to elevated juicy acidity, moderate grippy tannins, medium-bodied, 13% abv. Stylistically this is just Wine, right down the middle of what wine can be, and what you want in a weeknight bottle.
