February 28, 2017 - Smooth, chocolate with raspberry. a little heavy on the oak. has more time.
May 8, 2015 - The last of six bottles we have been tasting over time, perhaps the best. I have always thought it a good, straightforward Washington Cabernet, but I have always wished for the oak notes (which were never terribly prominent, but which I dislike) to recede completely. They now have done so, and the fruit is still remarkably fresh for a new world Cabernet approaching its 10th birthday. Paired with grilled ribeyes from Kansas City and grilled asparagus, this wine was absolutely delightful, and warranted the aging. I have a few from the 2008 vintage in the cellar, and I'm looking forward to exploring them now.
June 23, 2012 - Aged nicely. Glad I held off.
March 31, 2012 - outstanding value. still has life.
November 21, 2011 - wow, still very good.
January 9, 2011 - this one ranks as one of our all time favorite Cabs. It has it all.
May 31, 2010 - wow!! this is outstanding wine
March 21, 2010 - Very nice
December 22, 2009 - a nice subtle wash state cab. worth every penny. a little oak, some nice fruit. smooth going down, nice finish.
July 21, 2009 - Popped & poured at 55 degrees. The cork had a streak up two sides about half way that could have been some heat damage at some time in this wines travel. Nice plum color, it's not impossible to see through like so many over-extracted Cabernets these days. Scents of black currant, vanilla, tobacco, and coffee bean are all very clear and easily distinguishable. The vanilla is perhaps more dominant than I would like, but I'm impressed for right now. In the mouth there is good weight as soft and round flavors of dark fruits are met with good acidity and a limited finish. I feel like I just saw a great movie with a weak ending...I still think this is a very good wine. I'm just not sure I'd pay the $27 price tag.
