April 17, 2019 - Still great - amazing for a 15 year old gewurz from New Zealand. Who would guess. If you like gewurz, you will really like this wine. Classic bouquet and flavors, off-dry, intense and flavorful. Wonderful with Indian curry. Yummy.

December 29, 2017 - deep gold; off-dry, acidic, oily, and intense; honeysuckle, dried apricot, pepper, almond, cashews, butter, grass, honey, with hints of nail varnish and petrol; warm, lengthy finish; really pretty

December 15, 2016 - (BengHiang w Pa,Ma,James) Oily, golden honey in glass. Aromatic white florals, honey, late apricot, hints lychee and clean wet gravel. Palate is similarly unctuous, with restrained off-dry sweetness and taut acid body, with hints spritz and certainly development. Long lingering finish, with more minerality and floral savouryness. Grew with food, reacting differently (but beautifully) with their signature ngorhiong, oyster omelette, signature kongbapau and sloppy hokkien mee. Versatile, elegant, and generous.

July 29, 2016 - Left this one a little too long. Still delicious but the flavours are beginning to dull. Acidity also fading.

June 22, 2016 - Deep golden. Nose is light litchee fruit, white flowers, and butter. The palate is where it's going on, with tons of litchee on the attack that transitions to very ripe citrus to which butter is layered on the finish. Great acidity is a sign that this wine is still very much alive and could go a couple more years at least. A very beautiful wine!

(ORMOND Vinoptima Gewurztraminer Reserve) Gew Dear Friends, We offered this wine last spring and it sold out so quickly (if I remember, in less than an hour) I never had the pleasure of tasting it. I've been trying to acquire a second parcel since then and the persistence finally paid off this morning. I'm still not going to be able to taste it (my guess is that this parcel will sell out just as fast as the first) but here you go - with a few other opinions. If it matters, this is just about the highest rated white wine (non dessert) ever to come out of New Zealand... Steven Spurrier - Decanter: "Best New World White" This parcel is set to arrive in a few weeks at about the same price as in New Zealand - it will ship during the upcoming Fall shipping season. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this tariff: 2004 Vinoptima Gewurztraminer "Ormond" Reserve (New Zealand) 750ml(GT97) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA NZ9990
