January 27, 2024 - Dense and compact, ripe but not overripe. Tannins of good qualtiy as well. This will be very good, but I would not touch it before 2033.

January 21, 2024 - Walkaround tasting so just short notes: Dark berries, beautiful oak and cedar, full bodied and round, juicy and powerful. Beautifully fresh acidity and round tannin with a beautiful bite. Probably best not to open a bottle before 2030 or, even better, 2032. Will be a beautiful wine until 2040 at least. 94+

September 25, 2023 - Fragrant, cherry, plum, cedar, tobacco, fine acid vein, immediately with pleasant tannins, peppery spice, well integrated alcohol, fruit, alcohol, acid, tannin in harmony. Enthusiasm, however, does not set in. On the second day, the wine tends to close.

May 23, 2023 - Tasted at a 2020 vintage UGC tasting in Singapore. Blackcurrant and blackberry with a wonderful mineral, pencil lead, pencil shaving nose and palate. Touch of salinity on the finish. Great complexity. Really awesome - Batailley truly punching above its weight!

Anticipated score when fully mature: 94-96pts.

March 21, 2023 - Sporting a deep hue, the wine pops with its display of black currants, blackberries, espresso, cedar, cigar wrapper and mint leaf. The wine is full-bodied, round, and concentrated, with layers of ripe, polished, dark red pit fruits and berries, creamy tannins, and vibrancy, all of which make you go back for sip after sip. Drink from 2027-2055.

January 26, 2023 - Elevated aromatics of ripe strawberry over ripe plum and cedar. Alcohol a little high and tannins need time. At UGC LA

January 9, 2023 - (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 14% Alkohol) Expressiv, mit roten und dunklen Beeren, viel Würze, Zedernholz, Koriandersamen, Kaffee. Der Gaumen ist top balanciert, nichts dominiert, Alkohol, Säure, Gerbstoff, Frucht harmonieren, sehr gute Struktur, hohe Qualität. Klarer Kauftipp. 2027-2042+ (Verkostet am 8. May 22, 2021 - 93-95 vvPunkte (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 14% Alkohol) Verführerische, noch vom Holz geprägte Nase, dunkle Frucht, Gewürze, Zimt, Zedern, Mokka, komplex. 2027-2045 (April/Mai 2021) vvWine.ch

May 20, 2021 - Deep in color, the wine opens quickly with aromas of tobacco leaf, spicy currants, cedar, flowers, cigar box and blackberries. Full-bodied, round, concentrated and with ripe, polished, creamy tannins, the wine finishes with spicy, red berries, savory herbs and a refreshing spearmint note. Give this at least 8 years in the cellar and enjoy it over the following 2-3 decades. 93-95

    May 6, 2021 - Very very deep
(struggling a touch here – my cold is getting to me) Shows some restraint… lovely purity of cassis and raspberry fruit.

Some density and chew on the attack, chalky tannins, super lift – a real elegance in terms of weight and mouthfeel. Has breadth but seamless, some smoke, notes of tea. Juicy, with a savoury and toasty finish.
