{Sigh} ... too bad about this one, given the vineyard's pedigree and the bottle age. This was, simply, an over-done, modern Napa Cab. of little distinction. It wasn't falling apart, and was showing as moderately aged, but it was just way too rich and oaky for me to be happy that I bought and cellared this for more than a decade. If big Napa Cabs are your thing then this is right up your alley.

August 27, 2019 - For a vintage that’s had some negative press lately, this proves the alternative. Great wineries make great wines every year.
This clocks in at 15% abv but holds everything together beautifully.
Still a bright red rim with a deep ruby core.
Nose is dominated by blackberry, raspberry compote, cassis, and sweet leather.
On the palate this is silky, but there are still some reserved tannins. The acidity keeps all of the fruit in check, and the finish is stupid long.
Easily one of the best Cliff Lede, and 2004 wines I’ve ever had.
Drink now and over the next 10+ years.

January 7, 2014 - One of the more rare wines from CLV as they don't make it anymore. Doing really well at the moment.

December 30, 2013 - Wine comes across as extracted a bit with black cherry and blackberry fruit in a medium to full body profile with medium minus acidity. The oak has integrated well and the tannins are completely resolved. A very nice wine, just doesn't meld together as well or have the great balance of others.
