Community Tasting Notes 7

December 16, 2011 - The bottle I drank was pretty tired. Strangely thin with quirky "off" notes the first night. Ended up dumping it out the second.

September 30, 2010 - Found in cellar (not on my CT list). PnP. Light garnet with hint of brown. Just great pinot nose with funk, pine floor, strawberry, spice, and some cherry. Palate with acid-edged, fresh, penetrating fruit that gives a real sense of complexity and a finesse I don't often get in Siduri. Nicely balanced with tannins still in play. Long complex finish. No danger of fading. Makes me think I drink my Cali pinots too soon.

December 31, 2008 - Decanted 20 mins. Very classic nose. Cherry and earth. Silky smooth with dark berry and vanilla flavors. Glidede across the palat and lingered. After about 45 minuted the flavors started to flatten out but then picked up again after an hour. A great bottle.

October 26, 2008 - 1999 Garys' Vineyard tasting at Mike Sai's: Sweet dark wild berries, very young tasting, big candied spice, sandalwood, sweet tobacco, bright acidity. Reminded me of a KB. Can't believe it's 9 years old?!?! My fav of the night.

January 25, 2007 - Medium nose and body. More charred than toasty. Strawberry jam, cherry, earth. The char is what lingers. Served with mushroom ravioli, light mushroom, shallot & cream sauce. Very nice.
