July 26, 2021 - 2001/2002 Bordeaux at Hawksmoor (Hawksmoor, Guildhall, London): Showing as slighty softer, plummier nose compared to the 01 (served alongside). Medium bodied, attractive without huge intensity or depth, soft tannins, medium/good length finish.

June 21, 2021 - My daughter celebrated her 19th birthday and to commiserate this wonderful occasion, we opened up this bottle. Despite not being a vintage year, the wine was outstanding. Tannins were well balanced and structured. A bit of fruit but more earthy flavours. Well done.

April 4, 2021 - Blackcurrant, cedar, cherry, wood and some slight earth on the relatively classic Left Bank Bordeaux nose. The medium-bodied palate adds some spiciness and decent acidity. Medium but still grippy tannins and quite long finish, tapering towards the acids and the tannins. Stylish and elegant, but not extraordinary. Considering the vintage, still a success, and at 12.5% ABV, really drinkable and enjoyable. Drink up or hold for a short while, as probably the fruit will fade before notable tertiary tone development...

April 4, 2021 - Dark red rim, black red centre, some light through. Sediment well settled.. Open 1 hr, nose begins to emerge. Medium weight, dry on front of mouth and tannic on teeth, fruit and mellow savouriness emerge and then dominate the finish. Lingers for at least a minute. Now quite delicate, so will drink up my last remaining bottle soon. For future reference, I’ve got most pleasure drinking it 50 - 75% though the drinking window.

March 15, 2021 - Classic and yet a bit brawny, thick with tannins (which have now softened).
