October 21, 2023 - This was a nice. Very fruity with lots of red fruit. For me, red cherry almost like a jolly rancher but with lots of acidity and tannins. Well balanced. Really nice with food.

July 30, 2023 - Decanted for two hours before drinking and it needed this time - started quite closed and also a bit reductive. When we got into it the nose was truly expressive with a lovely musk, herbal, and volcanic-ash inflected dark fruit. Balanced and clean on the palate, with good density of flavor and an efficient frame, nothing jutting out. A bottle maybe six months ago showed alcohol heat but we didn’t decant that one as we did here.

July 14, 2023 - Another stellar bottle after being left open overnight. One heck of a value at Costco's $16.99. Rich dark fruit, open-knit but substantial, and certainly ready to drink, especially with good air exposure. Lovely blackberries in the mouth, strawberries in the nose. According to CT, the drinking window plateau expires in '26, but I'm not so sure about that; there is no sign of decline at this point at all. Wow! 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

July 11, 2023 - Opened last night, still delicious, gained with air overnight. This has got this awesome black fruit, dark chocolate nose that has really grabbed me with this wine, and then an added bonus with emerging anise and then briar; a profile that few--if any--$17 wines can match. This wine is all about richness and power. I used to think of Sicilian wines as all brawn and no brain, but no longer. Very consistent with my previous experiences with this. It's a beauty. 5-13-17-8: 93/100.

June 25, 2023 - Richly and darkly colored, very robust fruity wine. Very much the same as the last bottle I had recently. This is a screaming good buy at about $17 at Costco. Has gotten me interested in Sicilian wines especially those from Mt. Etna. 5-12-17-8: 92/100.
