December 19, 2021 - Opened up nicely showing some fruit but def on the back end of drinking window. That said, enjoyable

December 15, 2021 - This wine is a classic, and like an old friend

November 14, 2021 - Color: Brick red color, still nice color after all these years.

Nose: On the nose I get hints of lavender, raisins, dried figs. You can tell this is an aged cabernet. Similar profile to an Amarone.

Palate: Tannins have dissolved nicely over the years to leave stewed dark black fruits. Tons of raisins, tea, and blueberry on the palate. This wine has aged extremely well. Really exciting considering the last bottle I opened tasted oxidized and very astringent. Both bottles were purchased together upon release. Really amazing to see how different these were. This is a really excellent Napa cabernet. I would say to drink this in the next 12 months is you have it. While it has aged well, it's near the end of its life.

    Score: 92-93

May 9, 2021 - Opened and decanted for 30 minutes...absolutely horrendous. The wine tasted flawed. Very bitter and over-oxidized. Had no flavors except for astringent alcohol that had a vinegar like quality.

Thinking it was just a flawed bottle, I opened a second bottle and the exact same profile. I had both of these bottles perfectly cellared since release. Unfortunately, this wine is so passed its prime. Probably was good 7 years ago..just not even drinkable now.

Your mileage may vary but if you have this cellared, I suggest opening it very soon and see if yours has suffered the same fate.

December 25, 2020 - The fruit is gone, except raisin. Herbs, tobacco, and smokiness are layered behind the raisin/sherry aroma. Tannins are smoothed out so it was easy to drink with red meat. Wish I had an opportunity to drink when the fruit was the star. Drink 5 years ago.
