July 15, 2018 - From magnum. Fully alive but a little clumsy and unclean in flavour.

February 8, 2016 - Excellent. Smoky complexity. Oh joy! From magnum

December 31, 2015 - Magnum+ Champagne: From a magnum. Liked it much more than another bottle a couple of days before. This had an enticing creamy-buttery bouquet and a velvety, caressing palate. I didn't know that Mumm can be so good.

December 29, 2015 - Champagne - BYO blind: From a magnum. Lots and lots of elegant toast and roast as well as caramel. Immense accidity, but very silky taste (puzzling) with spices and herbs and a creamy finish. Easy to understand, friendly, but great nevertheless.

    May 4, 2015 - Magnum purchased from plusdebulles.com in spring 2015.

Cork shows that bottle was disgorged 2-3 years ago.

Not very complex, but really tasty champagne that opened up further after an hour. Nothing exeptional, but enjoyed by all.

This might not gain much from additional cellaring, but it certainly wont harm it either.

On sale for 70€ - excellent QPR!

(Mumm Cordon Rouge) Fresh and smoky, lemony fruit here, overall the aromas suggest an appealing and perhaps rather direct style. In fact the palate starts off quite gently, with a soft, enveloping, pillowy texture, although on top of this there is a lively mousse and decent acidity. Easy, approachable, but with interesting character. A good effort from Mumm.
