March 24, 2024 - In a great place. Good complexity, weight and persistence. Drink now and over another few years.
November 21, 2023 - This was excellent and enjoyed by all. Riesling profile with yeasty notes from the bubbles. Great.
June 17, 2023 - Pop and pour. On the nose: soft mousse, lemon, peach, lovely minerality, a touch of lees. On the palate: solid density and acidity, lifted yellow fruit, tangy finish.
December 25, 2022 - Extremely dry with lack of any distinct flavor. More floral tha. Fruity. Wish I hadn’t bought so many.
May 5, 2022 - Wow, as the weather warms up, I’m liking this more and more. Stupidly underpriced. I just wish I had two cases instead of two bottles left for the rest of summer.
May 4, 2022 - Aggressive mousse on day 1, flavor dominated by a bitter almost chemical taste (as noted in another review). Mellowed out on subsequent days, finer mousse and more apple, orchard fruit flavors, a hint of bread on day 3.
April 18, 2022 - Super dry as the Zero Dosage denotes but seemed to me out of balance with an odd acidity the made the fruit have a chemical characteristic.
February 5, 2022 - Very nice. On the nose: soft lees, peach, lemon, some bread dough. On the palate: mousse a touch rough at first, but calmed down quickly. Fantastic acidity, soft grapefruit and peach and a touch of warmth on the finish.
January 27, 2022 - Very nice Sekt. Despite the zero dosage there was the tiniest hint of sugar from the wine, which was about perfect for the non-spicy Asian food we had with it. Glad we have 6 to spread out over the coming several years, as this should age nicely.
January 14, 2022 - Very nice bone-dry Riesling. Bubbles are a bit aggressive, but fade out fast. Acid structure is classic Riesling— very mid palate and really pins down everything else. But, wow, there is a ton of slate and minerals in this wine, particularly in the finish, which only accentuates the dryness. A great change from champagne and way more interesting than most other non-champagne sparklers. I’ll buy again at the next opportunity. Pair with Asian food, maybe dishes in the fatty side— although it paired well with smoky fish. Two hours after opening, it’s flat in Zalto Universals and seems less dry. But even flat and slightly sweeter, it’s still a fine slatey Riesling on its own.
