January 1, 2024 - Scents of green & red pepper with fresh blue ink, meat tenderizer. Deep purple. Lush blackberry & unripe blueberry with dusty cocoa & milk duds, medium tannins on long finish. Outstanding QPR. Drinking much better on 2nd night. Suggest laying down for 3+ years for optimum drinking.

October 27, 2023 - In general i fet ypur traditional California Cab notes, like berries, tobacco, etc , but i also get a very interestimg flavor and aroma pf peanut butter. It blows off after a bit, but made it different!

June 20, 2023 - My first bottle of this entry level wine from Hourglass. Picked up for around $43 from a local merchant. Pnp'd for family last night. Enjoyed with grilled steaks, brauts, etc.

Dark in the glass with a bit of a reserved nose to start out. The palate is pretty pedestrian with simple dark red/black fruit, maybe an 88-89. However, with 2-3 hours of air, this one deepens, sweetens, gains some complexity and is quite enjoyable for an entry level wine. A solid 91+ on its way to a 92. Well worth the price point, just make sure to give it a couple hours of air to spread its wings.

January 30, 2023 - Drank from the winelist at Morten's Steakhouse in Naperville. Consistent with earlier recent tasting, ideal pairing with grilled filet of beef.
Bright garnet colored with hues of purple, medium full bodied, elegant, polished, full round forward, nicely integrated briary blackberry and ripe plum fruits with notes of mocha dark chocolate, clove spice, hints of vanilla, and delicate floral, with a balanced long finish combining slightly chalky tannins.

January 23, 2023 - Coravined at wine shop in Naples (FL). Lots of syrupy fruit. It’s certainly an easy drinker. Good cellar defender. Has some good weight, acid, and tannins. Good buy if you can find it for $45. Likely a touch better if decanted for an hour (and really needs another year).
