December 22, 2022 - Very solid Tawny, color is, of course, tawny, with a nose of orange peel. Nice melded flavors of butterscotch, caramel, figs, raisins, and toasted almond. Paired well with a strong cheddar and a Point Reyes Blue.

October 10, 2022 - Bottled in 2003. Color of Coca-Cola; strong nutty nose along with heat, hint of caramel as well; lively acidic body with flavors of orange peel, caramel, cashew. Rather short finish. Good, not great.

November 21, 2014 - This is not the Otima 20 year. Lots of toffee and nutty. Acid driven aromas. very acid driven on the palate too. wow. great balance. has more than just a little mossiness on the nose.

April 12, 2013 - This puts me in mind of French toast of raisin bread topped with a light grade maple syrup. There is a orange peel twang which enlivens it a bit, with fig preserves and caramel. It is quaffable enough, but not a strong 20 yr tawny. Bottled in 2008.

July 9, 2011 - Bottled in 2007. A nice tawny that provides a strong butterscotch and caramel profile, with some citrus peel. Not quite as bright as the Otima, and doesn't deliver the edgy acids that I normally get with Warre tawnies. Soft, but nice.

October 11, 2009 - When colour is the most remarkable aspect...something is not working properly here. Too sweet in mouth, too much raisins on palate, seems to be an artificial Tawny even. Nose is impersonal, like a cheaper one. Oaky. On the other hand, brilliant brown colour, transparent, clear Port. Good enough? Oh no, sorry. To Avoid.

The color is a medium brown that fades at the edges, which are just starting to show some slight yellowing. The nose is soft orange marmalade and butterscotch. The first thing I noticed was a distinct orange peel followed immediately by some solid acidity then some light maple and a big dose of heat on the back palate and finish. This has a fairly medium weight body and is quite lean on flavor and complexity. It's not bad, it's just a decent lighter weight 20 year old. However that said, there are other 20 year old tawny's out there which are far better for around the same price, the Sandeman to name one. I'm not sure if this the same juice as the Otima 20 year, but the Otima I've had in the past has been far better than this bottle. 86 points

October 16, 2006 - Decanted off a not inconsiderable sediment. This has a browning orange-strawberry brick red colour. Very nutty nose with some hints of maderisation and some dried figs. Smooth and fairly rich attack. This is fairly round and attractive on the palate with lots of dried fruit flavours. On first pouring, some spirit on the finish detracted, but after being open just 30 minutes that was less of a problem and was replaced by some fairly complex flavours on the finish with some flavours of raspberries dipped in dark chocolate. Very Good Indeed.
