February 18, 2024 - Une belle découverte à bon prix. Quand même beaucoup de tenue pour un Fleurie

February 6, 2024 - Coravin by the glass. Nose of black cherry, black raspberry, loamy earth, spice and anise. Black cherry, black raspberry, loamy earth, black licorice and spice on the palate. Finishes with good length. Medium to full bodied. Served with beef stir fry.

December 1, 2023 - The wine is fresh with balanced tannins, displaying notes of dark blue and red berries with a hint of maturity. There's also a herbal and spicy undertone, leading to a medium-length finish. Perhaps a slightly sharp alcohol presence.

October 31, 2023 - I'll pencil in 2020 as my favorite recent vintage of Roilette, with its attention-getting bouquet: black raspberry ink, savory and stable; stone perfume; salted fruit sap.
Dramatic tension in the drinking event lies in the unexpected merge of saturation, extract and structure with fleet, rollicking fruits, herbs, and seasoning—fraise, peppermint, black raspberry, violets. It's seriously drinkable and drinkably serious. I notice lots of interesting cleavage and nucleation sites for exploration. This is a responsive object, with deeply staining, fresh berry and spice essences. It is a compelling drink in 2023, and my hopes are raised for its future after 2030.

24 hours later, the last five ounces from the resealed tabletop bottle taste terrific.

September 29, 2023 - Still very young and alcoholic, and the finish is merely spice which suggests high alcohol. The nose too, has a basic black fruit and floral mix. After prolonged decanting, there was a very interesting smoke/granite aroma.

On the tongue, the tannins are present, but smooth with texture of clay.

    Too young at the moment.

August 18, 2023 - Very ripe, concentrate and spicy in a good way although I didn't expect such fit for a Beaujolais

May 3, 2023 - Let's see what this young Beaujolais from Fleurie can bring to my body and soul.
    An hour in decanter
    🕤⏰🕐
The granite-rich soil confers much finesse and charm to Fleurie wines, often labelled the most ‘feminine’ of the Beaujolais crus. In terms of surface, Fleurie is the third out of 10, largest cru in the region.
    ...
Lovely and well recognized sweet aromas of raspberry, red cherry, plum (?). Also flowers, minerals, graphite, smoke ( interesting!). Taste - red and black ( surprise) fruits, minerals, spice.
Long finish with spice and... nothing else. I guess either I opened this bottle too soon or I didn't keep in decanter long enough.
    Anyway great, affordable Beaujolais!
