December 29, 2023 - Pop and pour. Fantastic breathtaking aromas immediately. Mostly still ruby. Truffle and roses. Black tea. Tomato. Waves of constantly changing but always soft texture. All kinds of moist earth on entry. Wild raspberry jucy and refreshing. Finish is like a sunset. Blindingly brilliant and nearly endless. This has room to improve. At age 23 I’d guess still on the uptrend.

September 9, 2023 - This wine is drinking beautifully. I'd feared this 24 year old Barbaresco might be past its prime, but my fears were misplaced. It was still vibrant and powerful. It must have been a true beast 10 years ago. Now it is graceful with spicebox and leather notes and a long finish.

November 2, 2019 - I think I waited too long, sadly. It got better after opening for awhile...but with all the separation it was definitely not at its peak.

September 30, 2019 - WOTN at brisket dinner
great nose and wonderful backbone surrounded by fruit in harmony
so tasty with and without food
reminded us of our visit with the owners in piemonte this summer
still has some years of life left
