February 14, 2024 - 1/21 Disgorgement. Similar to my previous note, pretty and clean, but this vintage lacks concentration and intensity.

October 5, 2023 - This was solid but not great. Good energy and freshness but felt a touch tight still and maybe not fully showing the depth the palate may have in a few years.

August 24, 2023 - Champagne Bookclub (all served blind)--Viet (La Tableau in South Coast Plaza): Couldn't read the disgorgement info as it has been partially wiped away. Ironically, I had just backfilled some of this a week prior so to have it included as one of the blinds was cool. 100% Chardonnay from Chavot. Floral aroma. Pineapple, green apple and saline, what I thought was in a lower dose style. Good density and concentration. Was coiled up early on and then when I went back for another pour when it wasn't so cold, it showed a cool mix of lemony tangerine. Say whatever we want about the 2017 vintage, this wine along with the Marguet Le Parc and Mousse SC Les Fortes Terres, wines we all had blind last night from the 2017 vintage, they all showed for me terrific.

December 20, 2022 - Gingerbread, some other baked goods, the minerality is nice. On the palate, a bit salinity came through. Acidity is piercing.

December 19, 2022 - 1/21 Disgorgement, 0-5 g/L dosage. Very fine mousse. Golden apple, ripe citrus, nice earthy bead, fine mousse, rather delicate in style but with good intensity for the light weight. Don't think this will be a long ager.

May 26, 2022 - Lemon, yellow cake, maybe a bit of grapefruit -- all soaked in chalky limestone. This is wound up, with clear stuffing and intensity, but perhaps not showing the depth I hope will come. Will sit on my other two bottles for a while.

March 25, 2022 - way less wound up than other recent releases. Acid on this bottom seems in nice check, working well with the red apple and a bit of persimmon. Year in and year our this is some of the best champagne you can get for well under $100.

March 25, 2022 - Blind served along with the 2015. This was slightly more angular and carried the traditional citrus driven profile. But the two wines were remarkably similar and structure and underlying flavors. With this one being a little less ripe.

March 25, 2022 - Served blind next to the 2015. Disgorged January 2021, 100% Chardonnay with about 4 grams of dosage. Lot of power and intensity. My notes have the word spine to reflect the structure. Floral aromatic, with lime skin/peel, chalky and spicy with green apple. Interesting to have the 2015 and 2017 blind side by side. The 2017 just shows more power and intensity, with the 2015 being more opulent, richer, gingery and spicy.
