March 19, 2024 - Poured an opaque purple with a rusty sheen. Blackberry, iodine and some pruny background notes. Full-bodied mouthful of lush dark fruit and good length. Just starting to tip off the far end of its prime drinking window so consuming sooner than later is suggested. I enjoyed but couldn't manage more than a couple of glasses given its richness.

November 12, 2023 - Bottle purchased in a lot without looking at the back label which announces "special late harvest 17°5".

Very concentrated nose of coffee, plum and chocolate.

On the palate, my personal reference makes me think of an Amarone del Valpolicella. The juice is extremely dense on fig, coffee and chocolate. Thick juice that saturates the mouth. However, it remains drinkable and well made, you just have to like the late harvest style for a red wine. Big finish which carries everything in its path with a good cocoa length.

Good, but not my style. Note that if the wine quickly tired my palate when tasted pure, it behaved well at the table with very spicy dishes.

July 4, 2023 - Decanted for one hour. Full bodied, showing very little age. Quite sweet and port like but hangs together reasonably well. Black currant, tobacco, earth and spice. Not bad but not my style of wine.

May 14, 2022 - Last tasted one year ago with similar notes. Deep color with lots of dark fruits in the nose and flavor. Plums, figs, blackberries, blueberries, and hints of chocolate and licorice. A full bodied wine with nice complexity and a long finish.

October 11, 2021 - Just an incredible shiraz that has aged perfectly. Wish I had another 3 cases of this stuff.
