October 25, 2023 - This is one of my favorite every day wine’s…it is consistently smooth, nice heavy fruity blend. I try to have bottles on hand because it always makes a nice house visit gift for any host.

October 5, 2023 - A too sweet fruit bomb. Very disappointing, even for a quick, grocery store grab on an overnight trip with friends. Could not bring ourselves to finish it.

June 6, 2023 - The wine looks violet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig, prune and raisin. It tastes like red currant, black currant (cassis) and raspberry. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

February 5, 2023 - A soooth and rounded red wine blend aged in bourbon barrels. A dark ruby red rich wine with a sweetness to it much like Port. Warm Vanilla flavors with a little spice to it. Drinks very smooth and goes well with deserts, by itself or a great steak. Love this effort!!

January 1, 2023 - Very nice Red Wine blend aged in Bourbon barrels foe 3 months. Sweetness from the oak barrels, Vanilla aromas and the addition of a smoky aged bourbon cask makes this wine unique and wonderfully smooth. Deep Ruby color. My Go to favorite after a meal for desert.

June 7, 2022 - This is a hard wine to review. If rating it based on typical red blend wine features, it would fail miserably BUT that isn’t what this is trying to be. Very sweet - I think this vintage is sweeter than all the rest I’ve tried - and somewhat port like. You also truly taste the bourbon barrel - Cooper and Thief is the only wine maker I’ve tried where I feel like the bourbon is distinctly noticeable, which is fun IF you like bourbon. This isn’t a weak, watery red wind - I don’t think the grape juice comparison is fair as it has dark fruits, tobacco on the nose, and vanilla - it has personality. You’ll probably love it or hate it - I find myself doing both, it just depends on the night!
